I wrote this song in late 2022 whilst staying with family in Italy. I recorded it on my grandparents’ piano by placing a mic inside its body. Recording it was a risk sound wise but I’m really happy with how intimate and detailed the recording came out. I love piano recordings where you can hear the warmth of it’s inner workings, like Elijah Fox stuff or “Parfum d’étoiles” by Ichiko Aoba, and hopefully “Film” achieves a similar feeling.
